Please note a warmer weather pattern is forecasted for the Greater Toronto Area this weekend and into next week.
These conditions are favourable for the further break-up, melting and movement of any remaining river ice along watercourses.
There are currently a number of locations with either active ice jams (with no current flooding) or areas with partial ice accumulations.
The specific locations in TRCA’s jurisdiction, that we are currently aware of within the Humber River, Don River and Duffins Creek are listed below.
- Humber River, Bolton
- Ice jams north of Hickman St along Glasgow Rd, as well as south of Hickman St.
- Partial ice accumulation between Humberlea Rd and King St at Old Kind Rd
- Humber River, Vaughan
- Ice jam north of Broda Dr towards Major Mackenzie Rd
- Ice jam south of Rutherford Rd just east of Highway 27
- Humber River, Toronto
- Sheet ice present at Old Mill Rd to Bloor St, as well as at the Toronto Humber Yacht Club
- Don River mouth, Toronto
- Minor ice and debris accumulation at Cherry St bridge
- Duffins Creek, Ajax
- Ice jam west of Church St, upstream of Duffins Creek weir
- Partial ice blocks present, east of Church St between Highway 401 and Bayly St.
